Welcome to Early College High School, an AVID Site of Distinction!
Located on both the Trident Tech Palmer Campus and also the newly renovated Wilmot J. Frasier building, our hardworking students pursue dual enrollment classes with the potential to earn up to an associate degree by the time they graduate from high school.
The ECHS Way
"The ECHS Way" encompasses academic growth through responsiveness, organizational skills, active engagement, and resilience. It emphasizes maintaining respect for oneself and others, fostering an optimistic mindset, and behaving responsibly. This approach encourages students to follow school rules, complete tasks efficiently, and support peers while striving for personal and academic excellence.
AVID Site of Distinction
ECHS is an AVID Site of Distinction, which means that AVID is taught across all grade levels and content areas. The AVID curriculum prepares students for rigorous courses by focusing on college and career readiness skills in writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading (WICOR).

Student Support
Student support is at the heart of what we do at Early College. Students meet with their AVID teacher weekly to discuss academic successes and challenges so that personalized interventions can be implemented if needed.
College & Career Readiness
At Early College, we believe that every student should be afforded the opportunity to step foot on a college campus prior to making post-secondary plans. We support this opportunity knowledge by visiting in-state universities at each grade level and by attending several college and career fairs throughout the school year.

MUSC Health Science Cohort
Early College is proud to offer the MUSC Health Science Cohort. This partnership with Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Trident Technical College is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in the growing healthcare industry.
Teach Local
The Teach Local Academy at Early College provides students who are interested in exploring teaching and education as a career path the opportunity to participate in teaching field experiences, teacher education courses, and other career-oriented activities.
